These terms apply to ranktalos.com. By using the site you agree to them. Paid work (the Findability, Search and AI Findability Evaluates, the Due-Diligence Package, Catalog Fix, Search Fix, re-tests, the Privacy & Tracking Check and Privacy Fix) runs under a written order form or statement of work, which wins over these terms where they differ.
What our reports are
Our reports record what a website did, for stated visitor profiles or search requests, on a stated date. They are technical observations. They are not legal advice, a legal opinion, an audit opinion, a certification, or a guarantee that a site complies with any law or standard, and they don’t cover anything we didn’t test. Decisions about legal obligations belong to you and your counsel. If you prefer, you can engage us through your lawyer.
Report modes
Every Evaluate is delivered in Advisory or Independent mode, chosen in writing before work starts and printed on the report cover. In Advisory mode we may sell a fix, and the Evaluate fee is credited in full to a fix signed within 60 days of the readout. In Independent mode we sell no fix of any kind to the tested store for 12 months after delivery, and there is no fee credit. An Independent report commissioned by someone other than the store requires the store’s written consent. See the independence policy.
Disputes and corrections
The tested store may dispute any finding for 30 days after delivery, through the link beside the finding or the dispute form. We answer within 5 business days. If we confirm an error, we correct the report within 5 business days and list the correction, without the store’s name, in the public correction log. Our method is the published test standard version named in the report.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any paid engagement, however it arises, is capped at the fees you paid for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or a decision made on the basis of a report. The same cap is stated in every engagement letter.
Testing your store
For paid privacy work we test only after you confirm in writing that you are authorized to have the store tested. We load public pages as a visitor would and never attempt to access non-public systems. If your bot protection blocks our test, we record that and ask you to allowlist it.
Estimates and results
Revenue figures are estimates for on-site search only and depend on the assumptions shown; we do not estimate revenue from AI assistants. We don’t promise a sales lift, a ranking, or a recommendation by any assistant. Assistant answers vary between runs and change without notice; results are true on the dates shown. What we promise is the method and the re-test described in your order.
The website and the free Findability Check
Run the free Findability Check on stores you own or work for, or on public stores for evaluation. Its results are automated and indicative. Don’t publish or resell reports about other stores. Don’t automate requests against the site, try to break it, or submit unlawful content. We may limit or suspend accounts that abuse the scanner.
Private reports
Private report links are prepared for a named company and are confidential. Don’t forward or publish them. Links expire.
Intellectual property
The site’s text, design and code belong to DataDriveTech LLC d/b/a RankTalos. Third-party names and marks belong to their owners and are used only descriptively.
No warranty and limits
The site and the free Findability Check are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using them.
Changes and law
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. [Governing law and venue to be set with counsel.]
